Abstract: The spacetime metric around astrophysical black holes should be well approximated by the Kerr solution of Einstein's gravity, but macroscopic deviations from the Kerr metric are predicted by a number of alternative theories of gravity. X-ray reflection spectroscopy is potentially a powerful tool to probe the strong gravity region around black holes and test the Kerr hypothesis. In this talk, I will present the Xspec reflection model relxill_nk and current constraints on possible deviations from the Kerr background obtained from XMM-Newton and NuSTAR data.
